Our Story
In 2018, social entrepreneur Jason Woolf founded Side by Side Social Ventures, an umbrella organisation to help “bridge the gap” in Cape Town, South Africa – one of the world’s foremost unequal and segregated societies.Â
The first social venture Woolf focused on, Side by Side Experiences (SbSE), focused specifically on introducing community leaders from the margins of the city (particularly in townships) to its enclosed suburbs and the world at large.Â
The pandemic halted operations and provided Woolf the opportunity to start a new social venture: Side by Side with Jason (SbSJ), a “bridge the gap” themed show.
Later it became apparent that the world would pay for the videography equipment and skills Woolf had obtained for/through SbSJ, and Side by Side Productions (SbSP) was born to grow Side by Side’s financial sustainability and impact.
